Smoked Sour Cream Banana Bread

The super-moist quality of this dessert made for a very light smokiness on just the toasted pecans alone. Served with a slice of sweet cream butter, a dollop of sour cream, or a silky caramel sauce, it is the perfect end to a springtime Memphis meal.


  • 1/2 C butter, melted
  • 1 C white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 C all-purpose flour
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/2 C sour cream
  • 1/4 C pecans, chopped
  • 2 bananas, mashed


  1. Preheat Memphis Grill to 350F
  2. Mix together butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla
  3. Add pre-mixed dry ingredients
  4. Fold in bananas and sour cream
  5. Bake for 1 hour or until wooden chopstick inserted into center comes out clean.
  6. Optional caramel sauce:
  7. Simmer ¼ Cup brown sugar, ¼ cup water, and 2 T butter in sauce pan.
